Greenbrier’s Softball Lady Wolfpack goes undefeated in the annual “Mark Moseley Tournament.” The girls played many games, yet, despite the heat, they still managed to push through and come out on top.

The Mark Moseley tournament is conducted every year to raise cancer awareness. Mark Moseley, who was a heavy influence in Greenbrier Softball, passed away  in April of 2010 at the age of fifty- six. This tournament is unlike any other event the girls participate in because they are playing for specific purpose.

“We wear pink jerseys to show cancer awareness –  we wear blue eye-black, its called eye-black but its eye-blue.”, says Senior Captain Lydia Hunt. Colon Cancer was what caused the tragic death of Mark Moseley. The ribbon for colon cancer is the color blue, which is why the girls wear “eye-blue”. Being that this game is unlike many others, Junior Carrintyn Green, who has played softball 12 years, says “It makes me feel alive to play for Coach Mo’. She later goes on to say that the intensity of the games in this tournament are different then any other game she has played.”

Greenbrier Softball has continued to tear-it-up this season with many wins, as well as some tough losses.
