As high-schoolers, seven hours of classes can be overwhelming. Outside of school, the difficulty of finding time to breathe and relax is insane, especially with a mound of homework. Crazy schedules are of the norm. Doing homework from AP classes, sports or band practice for 2 hours, then to work for a five hour shift. With a schedule like that, eating and sleeping is rare. One student, senior Levi Blair, complains “even though I have senior privilege I use that just to get to work on time.” Students that have a lot on their plate often say they at least have a rough planner to get everything done. Along with highly busy schedules comes a high stress level. There are different ways to cope. Junior Kerrigan LaFrance  expresses that what helps is to “focus on things that actually matter and prioritize from there and take it one step at a time.” On the flipside, guidance counselor Mrs. Dorsey suggests. “Stay organized, put the most important events in your calendar…with most students the more you do, the more motivated you are.”Advice and help from faculty is something else students that would support busy students, “I love when you can feel that teachers genuinely care and recognize that you have more to deal with than just just their class.” Says Kerrigan LaFrance. So students, do you think busy schedules can motivate? Do you think teachers should be more forgiving? Do you think they know how busy and stressed we really are? Comment below with your thoughts or frustrations.
