The bright lights, aroma of fried foods, and smiles, from November 3rd-13th, the Columbia county fair was opened. Many students stopped by to experience this once a year event on the Columbia county fair grounds, and since the fair was only opened for a little over a week, students had to hurry to get their fill of fair rides and foods for the year.

Greenbrier students were really excited to go to the fair and ride their favorite rides, and according to sophomore Julia Florentino and freshman Emma Mann, that ride was the Cyclops. “The Cyclops is the best ride because you can ride with all your friends,” said Julia. Another ride people were excited for was the Mantis. Freshman Emma Mann added, “I also love the Mantis because it is really fun and you go high up in the air.”

Rides weren’t all that people were excited for. The fair foods made people rush to the fair as well. Sophomore Troy Ball said “My favorite food is funnel cake because they are sweet.” He added, “I think that they’re especially good because I only get to eat them one time a year.”

“The fair is worth the money because you get to do so much more than just ride rides. You can be with your friends, eat, and watch shows,” sophomore Julia Florentino said.
